Code of Conduct

At SportMember UK, we believe that sports should be enjoyable, respectful, and inclusive for everyone. Whether you’re an athlete, coach, volunteer, or spectator, we expect all members to uphold the highest standards of behavior both on and off the field. Our Code of Conduct outlines the expectations we have for all individuals associated with the club.

1. Respect and Integrity

  • Treat all members, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators with respect and dignity, both in person and online.
  • Demonstrate sportsmanship at all times, win or lose. Be gracious in victory and humble in defeat.
  • Display honesty and integrity in all actions and decisions. Always play by the rules and follow fair play principles.

2. Inclusivity and Fairness

  • Promote an environment that welcomes diversity and inclusion. Discrimination, harassment, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Ensure equal opportunities for all members, regardless of gender, age, ability, race, religion, or background.
  • Support your teammates and encourage a positive, collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels valued.

3. Responsibility and Accountability

  • Be punctual and prepared for all practices, games, and events.
  • Maintain a high level of personal fitness and skill development. Take responsibility for your own progress and commitment to the team.
  • Follow the instructions and guidance of coaches and officials. If you have concerns or disagreements, address them respectfully and constructively.
  • Uphold the club’s rules, policies, and decisions, including those related to health, safety, and welfare.

4. Health and Safety

  • Prioritize your health and well-being. Always seek medical attention if injured and inform coaches or club officials about any health issues that may impact your participation.
  • Participate in all activities in a safe and responsible manner. Follow safety guidelines, wear appropriate gear, and respect the facilities.
  • Use performance-enhancing drugs or banned substances. Uphold the integrity of the sport and your health by avoiding illegal or harmful substances.

5. Social Media and Online Conduct

  • Be mindful of your online presence. Do not post anything online (social media, blogs, etc.) that is disrespectful, discriminatory, or inappropriate.
  • Represent the club positively by sharing experiences that promote team spirit, sportsmanship, and the values of the club.
  • Respect the privacy and dignity of others online. Avoid posting content that may harm or embarrass others.

6. Commitment to Teamwork

  • Be supportive and encouraging toward your teammates. A strong, positive team environment is essential for success.
  • Communicate openly and respectfully with coaches and teammates.
  • Accept feedback and use it to improve yourself and your performance.

7. Disciplinary Action

  • Any behavior that violates the Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which could include verbal or written warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the incident.
  • Disciplinary actions will be handled by the club's management or disciplinary committee, and members will have an opportunity to discuss any concerns or disputes.
