Brakes U9 Purple Season 2024-2025 The U9 Purple team plays Sunday mornings in the Coventry Youth League. 

The most important thing is that the children have fun and enjoy themselves, whilst developing their footballing skills and love for the game.

Before todays game we spoke to the team about testing the opposition keeper early. The boys took this on and got off to a flyingstat, getting two early goals. Thomas took both his goals well. The second goal was made by a great pass through the defence by Atticus.

The rest of the match remained close, Mahan played very well in the middle of the pitch, breaking up opposition attacks.

Brian was exceptional in goal all game, making countless saves, including a brilliant triple save to keep the ball out!

The game was seen out thanks to some great dribbling by Milo who broke through the defence, being brought down in the box. Milo cool slotted home the resulting penalty.

Then they also went on to win the penalty shootout.

All the boys were fantastic today, their hard work in training paying off!

Christ the King's W - L U9 Purple

The boys started the game brightly, passing well and were the better team. Towards the end of the first half, the other team grew in confidence and went ahead just before the break.

The second half, we shuffled positions for the first time. We had some good moments, with Milo hitting the post from a free kick and Thomas coming close to get an equaliser.

The boys then got caught on the break going 2-0 down. Their heads did not drop and they kept going to the very end, getting a well taken consolation goal in the last minute

Lots to work on, but the boys should be really proud of the effort they put in.

The team played their first tier three match, having been T4 last season. We started well but unfortunately ended the first half 3 down.The boys really improved second half, pressing the ball well and being more of a goal threat. They battled really well and were unfortunate not to come away with a draw.
